In the beginning animations on mobile phones have been in pixel graphic in gif. format. Due to the file size limitations of the devices animations consist only of a few pictures. This has been changed with the appearance of SVG- scalable vector graphics. With this file format e.g. available on the most SonyEricsson and Siemens phones as well as on newer Motorola and Nokia phones animations can now be real animations. The next step is possible with the appearance of 3D graphics in M3G format which will drive experience even further - you will be impressed of your phone if you see the latest 3D graphics on a 262k colour display.
